Árstíðir is a vocal based acoustic band from Reykjavík with a sound that is unique to the Icelandic music scene. Part from their trademark vocal harmonies, it’s their instrumentation that really sets them apart, with two acoustic guitars and one baritone guitar backed up by a virtuoso pianist, and a genre breaking string duo. With all the instruments operating on different frequencies the six members manage to produce a wide sound spectra, further emphasized by their impressive vocal range.
Árstíðir has only been around for a year, but has already had two number one hits on Icelandic national radio, and released one full-length album and one live Ep on their own label Nivalis.
