Sigurbjörn Þorgrímsson started his career as half of the duo Ajax , which made a name for themselfs playing at raves around reykjavik in the early nineties. They released the “Ruffige EP” which did well in the UK and started the musical career of drum´n´bass legend Goldie.
In 1996 Sigurbjörn adopted the pseudonym Biogen and began playing live electronica at events and concerts around Reykjavik. In 1998 his first full length album was released on the German label Elektrolux.
Sigurbjörn was a founding member of the Thule record label and released a couple of 12 inches and one full length album on that label. He also took part in the Kitchen Motors concert series and remixed Icelandic bands such as Sigur Rós and múm. After the turn of the century Biogen has self released two albums in limited quantity.
Sigurbjörn has also done some work for commercials and actively promotes icelandic music talent thru “Weirdcore” live electronic music series and record label.
