When I saw Logn (calm weather in English) for the first time I was impressed, very. I thought about how I was when I was at their age and said to myself: “Man, I wasn’t this cool then… hell, I’m not even this cool now, nor will I probably ever be!” Obviously I’m not talking Vanilla-Ice cool here. This was my first impression because I think very few at this age are thinking outside of the box – the box being mainstream in so many senses. There is absolutely nothing calm about Logn. And even though they probably weigh less than 200kg combined (gear included) they come off pretty fucking scary playing their tight and intense grindcore. And so, after about five seconds of watching Logn I ceased to think about their age. It just didn’t matter because they are first and foremost great musicians with a lot to offer to the Icelandic underground metal and hardcore music scene. And although they are by many dubbed as the first metal boy-band in this rock, their music is everything but pretty.
